Hannah was slimly built with dark hair and a flat nose. She didn't marry until she was in her forties. She still lived with and looked after her parents even though she had her own home.
After Dave Buffhams wife died leaving five children she would clean his house as well. When the children were young they resented her because she tried to make them work but as they got older they appreciated what she really did for them.
For example she paid the electricity bills and made a big pot of pea soup and pufftaloons every Friday. She always worked in hotels and cleaned in private houses. Uncle Tom came to live with her in the late fifties and looked after her in later years until he died.
Hannah retired at eighty on the pension- she went to bed to die but diidn't until she was 93, she was senile and in hospital for the last six years.
The above recollection by her nephew Arthur Buffham in 1988.
